Experience Across Every Level of the Beauty Business

My career in the beauty industry began with makeup artistry, where working closely with models and clients sparked my interest in skin health and led me into esthetics and advanced skincare treatments.

My technical experience grew to include advanced aesthetic technologies and treatment platforms such as Fractional RF microneedling, IPL, Venus, Dermapen, Hydrafacial, Guinot Hydradermie.

Plus advanced medical-grade treatment protocols, alongside professional skincare and skincare brands including IMAGE Skincare, ZO Obagie, Vivier, Dermalogica, Nelly De Vuyst, Physiodermie and much more.

As my career developed, so did my understanding of the business side of it. I expanded beyond treatment expertise into professional education, leadership, business management, and operational performance, gaining experience across luxury salons, five-star spas, and medical beauty centers in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, Gothenburg, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh.

Over more than 15 years in the industry, I have seen what happens behind the scenes of beauty businesses—the good, the bad, and the ugly. Owners often didn’t see until they begin affecting revenue, staff performance, or client experience, or bad management.

I have seen pay structures that unintentionally discourage performance.  Underperforming teams that were never properly managed. Communication and language barriers affecting confidence, service delivery, sales, and performance.

I have seen discounts, and promotions created without properly considering their true cost to the business—and, in some cases, without knowing what that “Actual True” cost was.

Operational Decisions that looked attractive on the surface but quietly reduce profitability.

Yet I have also seen the positive side—teams that were highly motivated, managers who knew how to lead, clear performance expectations, strong client relationships, and businesses where the right structure allowed talented people to perform at their best.

These experiences showed me:

A beauty business does not succeed because of one great employee, one great manager, or one great treatment.

It succeeds when the people, leadership, operations, client experience, and financial performance are working together.

That is the perspective I bring to my work today.

I don’t simply look at what is happening on the surface. I look at what is driving it, where performance is being lost, and what needs to change to create a stronger business.

After years of working within the industry, training professionals and management teams, leading teams, and experiencing the realities of beauty businesses from the inside, I reached a point where I knew I could contribute much more than the limits of a single role would allow.

I wanted the freedom to bring all of that experience together and work directly with business owners—to look at the entire operation, challenge what was not working, strengthen what was, and help create the level of structure and performance I knew was possible.

That is why I created Huda Moi company where I advise and train.

Today, I bring my experience across aesthetics, education, leadership, management, and operations directly to salon, spa, and medical beauty clinic owners internationally.

I look at the business as a whole—its people, leadership, operations, client experience, sales, retention, and KPI —and how each part affects the next.

My role is to bring clarity to what is happening inside the business, identify where performance is being lost, and create a clear operational direction that connects the owner’s vision with what needs to happen every day.

Because after everything I  experienced in this industry, I know there is often far more potential inside a beauty business than its current results show.
